Metrocare Marketing Corp.: A BAD EXPERIENCE

i just want to share this bad experience happened to me last march 30, 2009, to give warning to those who are not yet victims as well as to give an idea what u could do if u are already victim.
.i was busy doing my analysis when i received a call from PAUL RODRIGUEZ of Metrocare Marketing Corporation (a.k.a. Citylimits Marketing Corp.) He first congratulate me for having a good ctbank standing and since i m a good payor “daw”, i am one of the lucky cardholder who qualified for their previlege card. He told me that the privilege card offers so many big discounts (up to 60%) and covers almost all of the stablishments here in metro manila. The package also includes, i think 3-5 pcs. gift certificates amounting each to 3K. While he was very fast explaining, at the back of my mind, i'm computing how this gift certificates will amount, and i said hmm.. it's ok. Then he said the annual fee is PHP 18k+ but he is is giving me a very big discount amounting only to PHP5,850. It was very clear in my mind that I am going to see the package first, then if its ok, i will call him back and we will talk on the deferred payment (depende raw sakin kung magkano gusto ko) payable until 2011. I agreed, gave my card details..(this was my big mistake!)thinking that they are affiliated with the citibank co.. He then gave the phone to his supervisor MS. MONIQUE APACIBLE congratulating me for availing the card, nagulat ako kasi congrats daw eh ang alam ko for approval ko pa yung package, but i wasn't able to speak coz she gave me back to PAUL R. saying he was so happy that i accepted it. before we close, he asked me where to deliver the package and confirmed that I will be charged only if i signed and accepted the package.
that afternoon I didn't told anyone about what happened but I wasn't able to sleep coz i was bothered by the details of my card that was given to him. The next day, I googled about that metrocare..nothing bad but as i was about to close, i noticed a blog from http://www.echeblahblah.blogspot.com/ (thanks to this blog..), only to discover so many same scenarios.
i immediately made inquiry to my card provider at yun nadiscover ko na there's a hanging amount of 5,850 and i said “grabe, totoo nga yung nasa blog!”. I asked if it will be removed if the card is blocked pero macha-charge pa rin daw sakin yun plus may 300 pa na payment for card replacement.(hu, hu, talo talaga ako). then i called up the number that Paul Rodriguez gave me but the phone just kept ringing..
it was a bad day for me, di ko na nagawa iba kong jobs..
that afternoon, nag call ulit ako sa citibank and nag request na lang na i-down grade yung card ko to silver (in that case, mapapalitan yung card ko ng walang charge). Na approve agad yung request ko so di na ako nagworry na baka magamit sa ibang transactions..
the package was delivered last april 1, buti na lang at alam ko na yung panloloko nila so i didn't sign.(Note: yun pinapa-sign pala nila, charged slip not delivery or acknowledgement slip. So kung nag sign ako, kaagad-agad nila mai-post yung P5,850 na yun). the delivery man told me if i will not sign, i have to call metrocare but i told him i won't, coz their not answering my previous calls..     it seems that Metro Care Marketing Services are at it again because based on the comments above, marami ulit ang naloloko nila.

  7. hey guys nalaman ko from them also na si carl sy ay si paul rodriguez din pala. tumawag kasi ako sa 8923762 at hindi pa kilala ng sumagot kung sino si carl sy tapos may narinig ako from background at sabi si paul yan...

  8. hi....victim dn kme ng scam n yan last october 31 lng...buti n lng hindi kme nakapagsign..sa package n diniliver nila...pero after umalis ng delivery, pinaclose nmin agad ung account ng CC nmin..and then yesterday lng (11/10/2010..tumwag ulet c MS MAXENE LIM n tga metro care...at tinatanong bkit hindi dw nirecib ung package. WTF tlga cla...pwersado k pumirma...but before that...nagusap p kme sa phone n MAXENE LIM at sinabi q sa knia...n alam n nmin ung modus operandi nila..at sinabi q n kung hindi cla titigil ipapa-imbestigador q cla..aba..at ang kapal ng muka n MAXENE LIM...nkipasigawan dn sia..hindi dw sia natatkot..dhil hindi dw cla nglalaro lng.kya kelangan kunin ung lecheng card nila...grbe...BS

  11. i was a victim as well.. i got the call earlier and gave my credit card #.. she said i will not be charged until i confirm when the package arrives.. the floating charge was 3,180.00.. pls help.. appreciate it

  12. Not a good day for me... i just received the package a few minutes ago. I talked to Ms. Jassamine-Sales Consultant, I told her I would like to cancel the transactions. She said I have to receive the package for documentation purposes and ask for the cancellation form to a certain Ms. Christine. Now, I'm having a hard time calling their contact numbers - 7297152/7287208 or 8923762.

  13. hi guys! victim din ako ng metrocare marketing corp. same din ng modus nila s inyo. i received a call from CACHAREL COLLIN. then dumating yung package nila pro hindi ko nireceive and hindi rin ako ngsign s docs nila instead nilagyan ko p ng malaking CANCELLED yung credit card transaction slip and yung membership form yta un. but when i called my credit card provider which is citibank where they charged the amount ayun my floating amount n 5t plus. then inadvise ko n yung citibank n hindi ko inapprove yung transaction n un sbi wait dw ako for 7 days kung mpost un and if ever mpost thats the time dw i can file s dispute letter. question ko lng guys..possible b n mapost un khit hindi ko nman nireceive un package and i didnt sign anything? pls. advise guys kung ano mgnda gawin? tnx in advance.
